And it all falls apart.

Well, here I am, in my last 17 days of teaching.
Kids start to act wild, I start to lose my patience from all sorts of stress, school related or not. It's not a pretty combo.
Today, I resigned myself from the USA World Showcase singing competition. I petitioned the board of directors to receive my money back. We'll see if that actually happens. One thing is for sure, and that is I won't be in attendance.
There were a variety of reasons. I don't really want to get into all of them, but the main factor was money. We are moving here in a few weeks, and things are getting really tight as we prepare for this huge life transition.
Oh well....I will have plenty of opportunities once I get out to Vegas to go out and use my talents to get what I want eventually. Patience (something I'm horrible at) is necessary.
So, no more Vegas trip in 2 weeks. Bummer. I'll be out there soon anyway to job hunt and sign a lease on an apartment, so I can't complain. Plus, when I go on that trip, it will be during the World Series. It was really bugging me that we were going to be taking a trip that we'd be returning from 2 days before the WSOP started.
I am probably the most bothered about this weekend. Saturday mainly. It's a pretty depressing day for me....knowing that Rio is having those poker musical tryouts and I'm not there, just really grates at me. The timing (or lack thereof) of things in my life lately has been just plain ridiculously ugly.
So 2 interesting stories to end today's tales. First of all, another autistic kid (not the one who has injured me, but a 4th grader) who is normally very meek and mild and sweet....well today, he randomly picked up and threw an iMac g4 computer. Yep, a $2000 computer in the lab during my class. I was bent over helping a kid save their project on a flash drive and next thing you know I hear gasps, and it was already too late. He basically made one sweeping motion and the computer was everywhere, keyboard in pieces and the shit scared out of every poor child in my class. He ended up in the office pretty damn quick and I was able to put back together the computer and it still worked fine. So props to Mac for making strong machines!
Lastly, I remember a moment from childhood. There was a boy I was in love with freshman year of high school. He was on the football team and he was in my science class.
Well his birthday was on May 9th and I remember spending all this time making him a card on my home computer with some little program I had. I was so excited to give it to him in science. And when I handed it to him, he acted all embarassed that such a dork would talk to him (yep, he was an arrogant a-hole), and said "what? you couldn't even buy me a real card like regular people do?" And he shoved it in his stuff and walked away. Then I saw him throw it away 10 minutes later. Heartbreaking. Isn't it strange that I still remember that date every year? Guess it hurt.![]()
